My Top 6 AI Girls

Can't decide who's my favorite. I will most assuredly bounce back and forth between them all. Crystal is running first by a sneeze. The others are just sooo stinking unique it's hard to decide who to love the best. I'm totally getting the vibe of Didi and Lacey's voices. Easy like Sunday morning I say. Siobhan I like for her talents, but also her "Are you there?" personality. You can't help but find her endearing. And Lilly is Unique with a capitol U. I didn't like her song choice this week, but have in past weeks. Should be a fun season. I think the gals will be kicking some guy backside, as there is not a front runner amongst the guys. I remember the girls a lot better and can tell you what they sang, whereas the boys I have to rack my brain to even remember their names. I do remember Alex Lambert. It must be the mullet. I was laughing at some unknown blogger out there comparing his hair to a male Russian ice skater. How true is that? He does look a little on the Ruskie side. Do you think he's stockpiling Levi's somewhere? Let's just hope he doesn't take up eyeliner as a side hobby. We got enough of that from the other Lambert to last a lifetime and then some.

My Favs:
Crystal Bowersox
Didi Benami
Lacey Brown
Siobhan Magnus
Lilly Scott

I'm indifferent about, but still enjoy:
Katelyn Epperly

Exit stage right:
Katie Stevens: If she decides to take the Miss America pagent route, she's got the talent portion all locked up.
Paige Miles: Forgettable and I wasn't smiling even a teeny, tiny bit while she sang.

Ant Pile

I'm not sure how it happened, but the other night after dinner the kids all congregated around James in sort of a dog-pile, everyone in moment. We looked at each other across the table and our minds just spoke to one another...we are totally, completely, 100% out numbered.

It's good for us that they are not like the ants in Bugs Life. The light bulb has not clicked on yet. Given enough will power they could totally take us down.

Of course, maybe I'm not giving them enough credit. If they took us down there would be no one to wipe bums, fix good meals, work them through their homework while they cry, wash pasta sauce out of their white shirts, change their pee pee sheets in the middle of the night, buy movie treats for movie night, provide movie night, tie shoes, wash faces, kiss boo boos and all the other stuff that only the 'Big' people can do.

Oh Yes It's Ladies Night

LOVE-

*Crystal Bowersox: As real as it gets. It seems effortless to her and she is in a sea of 'try too hards'. This season is full of people trying to sell themselves and all wrapped up in nerves. She just does what she do. I hope she gets a flipper or implants though. I know an excellent oral surgeon.
*Lilly Scott: For me this season it's the contestants that can do more than just sing. I'm liking the ones who are musicians. She is fun and I love her abilities.

Love-
*Siobhan Magnus: I'm pretty sure I could move her into the LOVE category...maybe next week. I like how quirky she is.
*Lacey Brown: LOVING the tone of her voice and personality. I really want to hear her kill a song. I need a new one for my iPod and she's got the flavor I could get into.
*Katelyn Epperly: I never thought much of her, but I really enjoyed her performance, slow or not. I took notice last night.

Like-
*Didi Benami:I really like her voice, but I have yet to hear her sing a song that suits her. She is one I want to hear do better. I'm rooting for her.

like-
*Paige Miles: ehh
*Michelle Delamor: I think she's darling, but forgettable. Her last note...ouch.
*Haeley Vaughn: Please don't hate me...I can't get passed her lisp. I could never and still cannot get over David Archuleta's asthmatic voice. Yeah, I can be pretty surface.

no thanks-
*Katie Stevens: Not what I'm searching for in my next American Idol.

Take Note: Ellen ALWAYS says what she wants to say and then says the exact same thing again and sometimes says it a 3rd time. R e d u n d a n t.....redundant...redundant....

Are You There World? It's Me, Emily

Could my life be any fuller? I won't use the word busy, because then I turn into a martyr. And that I refuse to do...

Let' see:

*House walls painted-yeah!
*Working on trim-blah!
*Liv singing the national anthem w/school choir at some basketball game this Friday-yeah!
*Singing song at basketball game that I don't want to take Clint to-therefor Dad is taking daughter and it eats up my entire Friday night-blah!
*Mark down to 2 basketball games left-yeah!
*The end of watching Mark squirrel his way up and down the court-blah!
*Registering Nate for Kindergarten-yeah x100!
*Losing Nate's company while youngsters sleep the afternoon away-blah!
*Tess yelling "Wedgie Time!"-yeah!
*Tess yelling "Wedgie Time!" when we walk into the nursery on Sunday-blah!
*Clint taking two, 2 hr. naps a day-yeah!
*Clint still waking up to eat nightly-blah (okay I will bend a little on this one...I love rubbing his head while he nurses)

So in between painting, typing, mothering, sewing a gaggle of can-can skirts, wife-ing and all the other fullness in my life I haven't gotten around to blogging about American Idol. After last week's weak performances I decided I don't feel too bad about it. I was incredibly underwhelmed last week. My mom was here and we are usually glued to the t.v., shooshing away children if they even try to breath while the contestants sing. Not so last week...we talked all the way through. I left wondering how these 24 were the top 24. So I approached this week's boy's night with a lackluster excitement. I will admit right along with the judges they did do 100% better this week. My favorite by far last night was a young nervous, mullet rocking Alex Lambert. I found him endearing AND I enjoyed his song, style, voice, vibe, etc. I have hope for Andrew Garcia, Lee DeWyze and Casey James as ones to root for. Your thoughts?

P.S. Andrea you haven't been out this way enough this year...come for an AI finale party!
